But, lucky for us Malaysians because we can still enjoy the weekend in a cold temperature (no, we’re not talking about the malls). Check out this 2 Days 1 Night itinerary at Cameron Highlands where you can enjoy breathtaking views and a cosy stay, besides the 😌cool weather.

Day 1

A Sheepish Welcome

Receive a warm welcome from a herd of 🐏sheep at The Sheep Sanctuary, and we promise you that none of you will be sheepish with each other. As you walk amongst these gentle creatures, you'll be struck by their cute and fluffy presence. Their soft bleats will melt your heart, making it impossible for you to resist the urge to touch them.

Besides the 🐏sheep, there are also 🦙alpacas, but be careful because the sheep are quite naughty, and they might spit on you. The entrance fee includes the price of animal food for you to feed the friendly creatures. This place can be inconvenient for the elderly and those with mobility issues to visit as the parking is quite far away and there are lots of stairs to walk.

For parking, you can park at the public parking lot nearby the area. One of them is the Kea Farm Market Car Park (RM3 per entrance). The other is the Kea Farm private parking lot (RM7 per entrance). It is a bit further from The Sheep Sanctuary compared to the first option. One good thing about The Sheep Sanctuary is that they are open even on public holidays.

Time Travel to The Past

If you are someone who was born in the 90s or older, you’ll probably find more things that you can relate to here at the Time Tunnel Museum compared to your younger peers. A step into the Time Tunnel Museum at Cameron Highlands will transport you back in time to a world of wonder and nostalgia. Here, the past comes alive in various displays of artefacts and memorabilia. 

But it's not just the artefacts that make the Time Tunnel Museum so special, it's the way they are presented. Many of the olden days' scenes are reproduced by arranging the vintage collections together. You'll see vintage cars, antique cameras and televisions, and even a replica of an old-fashioned barber complete with a barber chair and old-type hair steamers!

And as you journey through the museum, you'll be struck by the power of nostalgia. The sights, sounds, and even the smells of the past are all around you, evoking memories of a simpler time (if you are old enough). You'll be reminded of the good old days and the value of preserving our history for future generations. The most powerful aspect of the Time Tunnel Museum is perhaps the way it connects us to the people who came before us. As we gaze upon the artefacts of their lives, we are reminded that they too, were human beings with hopes, dreams, and aspirations.

King Kong Lunch

There are many places with good food in Cameron Highlands, and we would like to suggest Tipsy King Kong for lunch. They have a variety of food here; 🍚Chinese food, 🍝Western food, 🍱Japanese food, you name it! However the food here is non-halal, so don’t bring your Muslim friends here.

For halal options, we recommend Food Court Brinchang. There are many varieties of food for you to choose from. Most of them centre on Malay and Thai cuisine. What's most important is that the price is 😍affordable!

Social Media Check-Ins

You can’t tell people that you've been to Cameron Highlands without checking in at these 2 places. The first one would be the I Love Cameron Highlands Sign, which is a well-known landmark. Located by the main road, it is a simple but captivating sign, with the words "I ♥️ Cameron Highlands" written in white letters with the “I” encased in a red heart symbol. It is hard to miss this iconic spot where many tourists flock to take 📸pictures with it as a backdrop.

The next stop would be Family Mart Tanah Rata Cameron Highlands. Actually, any Family Mart at Cameron Highlands will do because they are not your typical Family Mart. It is a monochrome store sign that stands out amidst the quiet and serene surroundings, which kind of has a reverse effect of what it’s supposed to do. According to many Malaysian netizens, it is Family Mart’s policy to not outdo nature's beauty (in this case Cameron Highlands) with its bright and vivid signboard. Upon more research, many people also found that it’s a pretty common thing in Japan, and Family Mart is not the only convenience store doing it.

The Actual Check-In

We recommend staying at The Lakehouse, Cameron Highlands. This accommodation is a masterpiece of architecture and design, inspired by the Tudor-style buildings that will transport you to the English countryside (not literally, we’re not that advanced yet).

This charming lodging has magnificent gardens and 🌄hilltop views that simply can’t be described in words. The interiors are equally stunning, with antique furnishings, elegant décor, warm lighting that creates a cosy ambience and a fireplace!

You have to have the ☕🍰afternoon tea set! Imagine enjoying some freshly baked scones and a delectable array of delights like sandwiches with cucumber and smoked salmon, an assortment of cakes, tarts, and pastries with a cup of fragrant tea, all while enjoying a vista of greenery. You can spend hours gazing out at the misty mountains in the distance. The hotel is surrounded by lush gardens and manicured lawns, making it perfect for a leisure stroll or a picnic with your loved ones.

At night, you can enjoy a warm Steamboat dinner amidst the cold highland temperature. At The Lakehouse, emphasis is placed on using the freshest ingredients for the steamboat dinner. The vegetables used are sourced from the farms around Cameron Highlands. On top of that, the assortment of thinly sliced meats, such as tender beef and succulent chicken, together with delicate seafood like prawns and fish will make you drool. Priced at RM85 nett per adult, there is a minimum order for 2 people needed, and you have to reserve before 3pm on the same day. This special dinner is applicable for in-house guests only.

Day 2

Sunrise Viewing

Wake up early to witness the grandeur of the 🌄sunrise in Cameron Highlands. The sunrise viewing point is approximately 10 mins drive away from the Boh Tea Centre. You can come here around 7am (better check the sunrise time with Mr Google for a more accurate time). Parking spots are hard to come by, and many people park illegally by the side of the roads before walking to the viewing point. 

Capture the magical moment with your 📸camera when the sky transforms into a canvas for nature's artistry where the gentle strokes of sun rays paint the horizon, casting a soft glow that illuminates the world below. Treat your lenses to the spectacular shades of gold, pink, and orange that blend harmoniously, reflecting off the wisps of clouds and mist that veil the landscape.

Breakfast Feast

Enjoy a breakfast feast at Boh Tea Centre surrounded by nothing but the beautiful morning view of the tea plantation. Feast your eyes upon the breathtaking views of rolling hills carpeted with vibrant green tea bushes stretching as far as the eye can see, surrounded by misty clouds and blue sky.

You won't be disappointed by the gastronomy options here. Be tantalised by the aroma of fresh pastries, and enjoy the sweetness of seasonal fruits on the 🍰rich-flavoured cakes. Sip on a cup of perfectly brewed ☕Boh tea, the very essence of Cameron Highlands’ tea plantation, and let it infuse your breakfast with unmatched harmony. All while being on the terrace with see-through glass panels that open up to the beautiful view of the Boh tea plantation. 

The number of tables available for breakfast is limited, so expect to queue about 20-30 minutes to get a table. There is also a shop selling various Boh tea, and some are rare on the market. You should check it out.

Mossy Forest

In this hot weather, why not visit the Mossy Forest. Step into a realm straight out of a fairytale, where nature's mystique and ancient beauty converge. Prepare to be mesmerised as you wander through a verdant tapestry of moss-covered trees, mist-shrouded pathways, and a sense of awe that transcends time.

You'll find yourself surrounded by a dense canopy of emerald-green moss that blankets every surface. The forest floor is a carpet of lush ferns, delicate wildflowers, and hidden gems awaiting discovery. Each step forward reveals a new layer of magic, as sunlight filters through the leaves, casting a mystical glow upon your path.

The trails are easy but can be slippery due to the moss and difficult for people with knee problems. Entry ticket is RM10, you need someone from a tour agency to bring you to the entrance by 4WD (with an extra fee of course). No cars are allowed beyond the entrance. Alternatively, if you would like to add more steps to the day, you can hike to the entrance.

Strawberry Picking

What is a visit to Cameron Highlands without picking 🍓strawberries at a strawberry farm! Head to Royal Berry Strawberry Park & Cafe where you’ll be welcomed by a humble-looking storefront. However, as you go inside, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by rows of strawberry shrubs stretching out before you, displaying their juicy gems and enticing you to pluck and savour their sweetness and of course, a cafe. 

At Royal Berry Strawberry Park & Cafe, you can pick Cameron Highlands-grown 🍓strawberries at just RM5 per 100g! This is one of the cheapest places in Cameron Highlands to pick strawberries. Other places charge around RM7 per 100g, while some others charge RM40 per 500g! This is a great way to spend time with your kids. They are going to enjoy carrying a small basket and cutting ripe red strawberries from their stems.

For lunch, you can dine in the cafe. Both the farm and cafe are Muslim-owned, so you can rest assured that it’s halal. However, there aren’t many food options here as they only have local delicacies like Nasi Ayam, Nasi Ayam Berempah and instant noodles. They also have desserts, but they are mainly strawberries with dippings and scones.

Hokkaido in Cameron Highlands

You don’t have to go to Hokkaido to see Lavender, because we have it in Malaysia. Oh no! You didn’t know? In the heart of Cameron Highlands, amidst the rolling hills and mist-kissed landscapes, lies a haven of tranquillity and beauty, the Lavender Garden, also known as Cameron Lavender.

As you enter the Lavender Garden, prepare to be captivated by the sight of the vibrant purple hues painting the nursery in an exquisite tapestry of elegance. Then, close your eyes and inhale deeply, for the air within the Lavender Garden carries the intoxicating fragrance of lavender with it. 

Besides the sea of purple elegance, you can also find other blooms like 🌹roses, hydrangeas, orchids and many more. On top of seeing and smelling the enchanting flowers, you can also taste them! Get yourself a frozen treat in the form of a Lavender flavoured ice cream cone that is also available in strawberry and other common flavours like mint, chocolate, vanilla etc.

ATV Adventure & Air Swing

Prepare to embark on a thrilling journey and end your Cameron Highlands trip with a note of adventure with the Cameron Adventures ATV & Safari. Mount on your ATV and ride away but be warned, it is quite a challenging ride that is not suitable for newbies. On the other hand, for adventure enthusiasts, the rumble of the engine adds to the excitement as you navigate through rocky paths and splash through muddy trails.

If you feel like ATV is not your thing, why not try the family-friendly safari ride. As your 🚙4WD navigates the trails, you will be treated to a spectacle of enchanting landscapes that unfold before your eyes. The lush tea valleys spreading out like a verdant tapestry that paints the scenery in green hues is a sight that you can't miss. There is also a petting zoo with cute animals like 🐇rabbits, 🐔chickens and 🐟fish for you to pet (not the fish) and feed.

Then, don’t forget to try out the iconic air swing that is similar to the one in Bali. As you sit on the swing, be suspended in the air where you become one with the wind, feeling invisible wings spreading behind your back. It is not for those with Acrophobia. From the vantage point of the air swing, the world unfolds in a breathtaking panorama. Don’t forget to snap lots of pictures of this rare moment of courage.
