Farm tours are a thing in overseas countries but did you know that there are a lot of farms in Malaysia which allow visitors to come in and tour around? Not only that, many of these farms even have a 🍴🥦farm-to-table concept whereby you can enjoy fresh produce that comes directly from the farm! Let’s check out these 11 farm tours in Malaysia, where you can enjoy fresh local fruits and vegetables.
Dragon fruit lovers! This is a rare opportunity for you to see the fruit up close before it is harvested. Before entering the farm, you’ll be greeted by Malaysia’s largest dragon fruit-shaped structure. This gigantic pink dragon fruit even entered the Malaysia Book of Records! Then, on the farm, you can touch and feel the dragon fruits while they are still on their trees, but please don’t pluck ok! We are civilised people. We purchase fresh dragon fruits from their store instead.
The best part of the farm is none other than the cafe with a farm-to-table concept. It serves food & beverages made of dragon fruits from their farm, and it’s halal! Some of the food & drinks on the menu include dragon fruit nasi lemak, dragon fruit burger and various kinds of dragon fruit smoothies. The must-try in the cafe is the Jumbo dragon fruit chicken bun😋. It is their signature dish, and everyone who has tried it recommends it!

A Little Farm On The Hill is literally a little farm on the hill. It is barely 6 acres. This farm started off as a 🥕vegetable garden before growing into a small farm. However, do not underestimate this little farm. They actually grow and supply their produce to local shops and restaurants! Everything here, from fruits to vegetables to herbs is grown organically.
The foods here are served western style with a farm-to-table concept where most of the ingredients are from their farm. Yes! They even smoke 🥩meats, make jams and tend to their own 🐟fish and 🐝bees. Some of the mouth-watering cuisines which you can find here include six-hour smoked 🍖beef served with spicy salsa & pickles, 🍆aubergine with yoghurt and chilli oil, grilled chayote caponata and many more.
It also goes without saying that dining here is not cheap. Here’s a hint, it costs 3 figures🤑. Dining here is pretty exclusive, and you’ll have to make reservations in advance. On ordinary weekends, you can book a spot and enjoy the Farmers Lunch Club. On the other hand, during festive seasons like Christmas and Hari Raya Aidilfitri, there will be special menus. They are only open for lunch with spots for 36 guests, and it is required to have a minimum of 4 guests per booking. They are also available for private event bookings.

Here is a farm with ⛺camping experience and farm dining. At Sempah T-Farm, you can camp overnight right next to a farm and enjoy the crops grown there! Don’t like camping? You can take up the glamping package.
Both packages come with dining and a variety of activities that you can enjoy, such as exploring the farm, river walking, jungle trekking and night walking. On top of that, the stay here is comfortable with facilities like hot water supply, water heater shower, clean toilet, etc.
If you don’t want to stay overnight but still want to experience their farm-to-table dining, sure, no problem! However, it is advisable to make a booking to secure a place to dine. The food here is non-halal, but 🥬vegetarians can make special requests for their food to be prepared 🚫🥩without meat. One interesting thing about dining here is that it is a totally omakase experience without any menu. The foods prepared highly depend on the seasonal crops and ingredients available on hand.

With a 25 acres farm, Penang Tropical Fruit Farm has over 200 species of fruits. Perched on the hilly terrain of Teluk Bahang, this farm is 800ft above sea level. This provides a conducive environment for cultivating many species of tropical fruits, including some rare and exotic fruits. The guided farm tour will open your eyes as the guide explains about the fruits on the farm. It is a very educational tour, and we highly recommend bringing your 🧒kids here.
If you are lucky, the guide will allow you to directly pluck and sample the fruits from some of the trees (but please don’t pluck without permission, you are not a 🙅♀️🙉monkey). At the end of the farm, you can sample 🍯honey, enzymes and some fruits for free! If you like what you've tasted and want more, you can head to the cafe with a farm-to-table concept to order smoothies and cut fruits.
Or even better, you can buy fresh fruits at the shop and bring them back to slowly enjoy at home. Besides the ordinary tropical fruits, there are also many exotic fruits such as pink figs, ice-cream beans, 🎅Santa Claus melon and many more.

We can’t leave our sweet red 🍓strawberries out of the list, can’t we? Cameron Highlands is well known for its 🥶cold climate, and strawberries can only grow in cold climates. So…add them together, and you'll get strawberries on Cameron Highlands! There are tons of strawberry farms in Cameron Highlands but we'll be focusing on an underrated small strawberry farm in Cameron Highlands, which is Ladang Soon Cheong.
As many might not know, 🍓strawberry picking is highly dependent on luck! Sometimes, if a farm is low in strawberries, there will be no strawberry picking for visitors. This often happens on large farms with high visitor traffic. If the big farms you go run out of strawberry picking quota, we suggest trying smaller farms like Ladang Soon Cheong. It is not crowded, and the price is one of the cheapest in Cameron Highlands. At just RM30, you can pick 500g of strawberries to bring back home. Oh! It's free entry too! However, the downside is that there is no cafe which serves food made of strawberries.

Besides steamboats, there are other plant-based meals such as 🥬🍔vegetarian burgers, 🍕pizza, oat milk drinks, oat pudding with red beans, and many more.
