Located at the iconic St. Jo's building at Gurney Paragon Mall, the Straits & Oriental Museum is Penang’s first museum showcasing over 250 ancient oriental ceramics from shipwrecks such as the Wanli, Turiang, Royal Nanhai, Nanyang, Xuande and Desaru. The musuem also houses ceramics from the Song, Ming and Qing Dynasty.
Divided into three different halls, the exhibits have unique styles according to their periods and geography and give insights to how people lived, migratory patterns and trade relationships between several countries.
