Afloat Coffee Roaster opened on the 24th of May 2022 and is helmed by a husband and wife team, Jimmy and Leng. They are baristas with years of experience in their repertoire. Being a coffee roastery, they roast their own single-origin beans (obviously). They serve 3 types of ☕coffee which are macro, micro and unique (which reflects the origin of the coffee).
The coffee aroma is so rich that you can already smell it from the stairs leading up to the 2nd floor. If you are 🙅♀️🐄lactose-intolerant, no worries because they have an oat milk option from Oatside. Their food menu is simple, just 🥯bagels and 🥨pastries from Dou Dou Bake to pair with their specialty coffees which can all get you addicted in no time.
Coffee lovers will love this place because it is spacious, and the minimalist brown interior provides a cosy ambience. This cafe is also very Instagramable, especially the balcony with a panoramic view overlooking the greenery. Coffees in House of Kendal Cafe are as local and original as you can get because they grow, mill, roast and brew their own coffees in Batu Pahat, Johor! It is a family business revived by father and son duo Esham Salam and Adam just a couple of years ago after a 🔥fire that burned down their family’s coffee farm in the 1960s.
They specialise in homegrown Liberica (grown, milled & roast) and Arabica (roast). Their coffee beans are roasted at least 3 times a week to ensure freshness. Besides specialty coffees, they also serve ☕Kopi Bagan which is 100% Liberica beans for traditionalists who favour traditional coffee or kopi kampung.

Elephant Republic is easily spotted with its white-washed 2-storey terrace house remodelled as a cafe. Away from the busy streets and along an alley, this cafe is surprisingly 🤳Instagramable with its similarly white-washed interior coupled with wooden & rattan furniture, brown floorings and lots of green plants.

Established in 2017, 43 Coffee takes pride in their custom roasted coffees. Now you might be wondering why 43? Unbeknownst to many, 43 is the lot number of a bungalow in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (TTDI). They intended to establish the cafe and roastery with it but were not approved by the municipal council. Then, they found this gem, an ex-office space (also in TTDI) and opened the cafe here. Whereas their roastery is in a warehouse space in Section 16, Shah Alam.
Located on the 2nd floor, this cafe is usually pretty quiet. However, if you find it not quite enough, there is a quiet zone for you to enjoy your ☕aromatic coffee. Their head barista is very knowledgeable about their coffees & machines and would even divulge his brewing techniques to you! They also carry a wide selection of good beans that are typically only a few days old, and you can buy them to bring back home. From time to time, there will be private events that you can join like a coffee buffet and coffee tasting, so make sure to follow their social media closely for announcements.
