Looking to spice up your team building? Check out our 3-day, 2-night team-building package in enchanting Penang! Explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Georgetown, trek through lush 🌳greenery at Penang Hill, and indulge in the 😋local cuisine. With a perfect blend of outdoor adventures, cultural experiences, and team-bonding activities, this trip is a hard-to-forget one. Escape the ordinary and embark on a journey that will leave your team feeling rejuvenated and inspired.
The day begins as early as 8 am. Gather at the designated pick-up point and get ready to be driven to Penang Island. The journey to Penang is long and winding. It takes about 4 hours and 30 minutes, guys! But no worries, we’ll stop at R&R in between for 🚽toilet breaks (we are not the type that would abuse your bladders) and snacks. The journey will take you through rolling hills and verdant valleys, past sleepy towns and bustling cities.
As the clock strikes noon, we’re pretty sure that the hunger pangs will begin to gnaw at your bellies. We’ll be making a stop at a local Kopitiam or Old City Food Court in Fettes Park for a well-deserved lunch break. Well, it doesn’t matter which one because both will have a variety of 😋yummy Penang food for you to choose from! One warning though, they are all non-halal.
After lunch, we’ll continue our journey to Penang Hill, our next destination. Also commonly known as Bukit Bendera, it is a popular tourist destination in Penang, Malaysia. Standing at 833 meters above sea level, it offers a 😍stunning panoramic view of the entire island. Our itinerary includes taking you on a scenic ride on the tram, which has been in operation since 1923, to reach the Upper Station.
After that, you’ll be taken to The Habitat. This serene sanctuary of nature is a place where the beauty of the rainforest unfolds before your very eyes. The Habitat at Penang Hill is more than just a reserve. It's a journey of the senses, sounds and sensations. With every step, you are transported deeper into a world of wonder, surrounded by a lush tapestry of greenery and the sweet melody of 🐦🎼birdsong. The air is crisp and refreshing, and you can't help but feel a sense of peace and tranquillity.
Of course, the trip to the Habitat is not complete without a walk at the Curtis Crest. Explore the lush tropical rainforest, teeming with life and vitality on this almost 13-metre high treetop walk that stretches in a 100-metre track that runs in a circle! Believe it or not, it is the highest accessible viewing platform on Penang Island. Reconnect with the natural world as you walk above the canopy of rainforest trees.
After a long day out, it’s time to check in at Ardour Lodge. This pet-friendly homestay is only 1 minute away from the beach. There is even a pool in the lodging! Take some time to unwind, unpack your belongings, freshen up, or simply relax in the room before dinner. You’ll have about an hour for that.
Get ready to be brought to Viva Local Food Haven and enjoy some good food with the warmth of human connection (or the heat of your meal being prepared). They have all sorts of food like Ikan Bakar, Shawarma, Pan Mee, Oyster Omelette, Char Kuey Teow, you name it! Then, you’ll be given a briefing on the team-building activities for the next day. After that, take a 5-minute walk back to your homestay and turn the switch off for the day.
Start the day with breakfast at Tanjung Bungah Morning Market. At the market, you’ll be greeted by the sound of sizzling pans and the aroma of delicious food. Make your way through the stalls, and find out what local delicacies they have!
We’ll drive back to the lodge to start your first team-building game! It’ll begin with an ice-breaking session which consists of 45 minutes long indoor games. Our advice is to throw yourself into the games and let go of any nerves or inhibitions you may have. You’ll be surprised to find out that your teammates have other sides of personalities too! This is suitable for companies and teams with new members who barely know each other. The second session would be Plane Carrier which we are taking outdoors. Of course, there is a 5-10 minute break in between, before this session starts. The third would be Pretend to Know, which is an indoor game.
Then, it’s time for lunch! You can choose any place to enjoy a delicious lunch. If you are sick of hawker stall food, maybe you can go for a change with Healy Mac's Irish Bar & Restaurant. You can enjoy Western food like pizza, sausages, lamb shank and many more. Alternatively, if you are into Asian cuisine, you can check No Eyed Deer. It is a family restaurant famous for its Laotian Laksa.
You can’t leave Penang without any Tau Sar Piah or Tambun Biscuits in your baggage. For your information, Tambun Biscuits do not come from Tambun Perak. Instead, it originates from Bukit Tambun in Penang.
Two of the most famous Tau Sar Piah shops in Penang, Ban Heang and Ghee Hiang offer not only the popular Tau Sar Piah but also other delightful traditional pastries like Beh Teh Soh, Heong Piah, Almond Slice and many more.
Explore and take lots of pictures of the famous murals and other forms of street art in Georgetown UNESCO Historic Site. We’ll first take you to Armenian Street, where the famous Children on a Bicycle mural is. After that, we’ll take you to tour the Street of Harmony, also known as Pitt Street. This is where you can find houses of worship for every main religion in Malaysia. Most of these buildings are more than a hundred years old, making them valuable historical buildings.
After a stroll at theGeorgetown UNESCO Historic Site, it’s time to make your way to Chew Jetty. This vibrant community built on stilts above the water is a sight to behold. Chew Jetty is not just a tourist attraction; it is a testament to the resilience and resourcefulness of the locals. It is a place of community, of tradition, and of beauty.
Besides the houses, there is also Jetty 35, a hipster hub for art and culture. You can buy some of the art and crafts as souvenirs. They are the work of non-other than the talented locals. On top of that, there are also Instagrammable cafes all around that are worthy to check out.
It’s time for dinner! We’ll take you to Chulia Street where there are many famous restaurants waiting for you. We recommend Aroi Thai restaurant. It is located inside Prangin Mall and serves authentic Thai food. The food is good, and the prices are reasonable. The place is a bit small, so it’s more suitable for small groups.
Another famous eatery that we would like to recommend is Auntie Gaik Lean's Old School Eatery Nyonya Restaurant. This is where you can enjoy all sorts of mouth-watering authentic Nyonya cuisine like Chicken Curry Kapitan, Sambal Petai, Jiew Hu Char and many more. After dinner, we’ll take you back to your accommodation to rest for the day.
It’s day 3, which means that it’s your last day in Penang. Before doing anything, let’s start the day with your last Penang breakfast at Tanjung Bungah market. Savour local delights like Nyonya Kuih, Hokkien Mee and many more. Don’t forget to check out some fresh tropical fruits too!
There will be an hour free and easy for you to enjoy your last moments in Penang. You can explore the Tanjong Tokong World War II Relics, which is located on the beach side. You can take lots of photos of the abandoned structures. Alternatively, you can take your time to pack up and prepare for going home.
