You don’t have to go all the way to Ipoh for a colourful umbrella walk because there is one in Dengkil too! Not only that, but the mural paintings on the old buildings are also a refreshing sight to see. This is also a suitable place to bring kids along to play with the interactive arts.

Enjoy al fresco dining on top of the hill with delicious 🍝western food and a beautiful 🌄sunset view of Dengkil town at Hilltop Cuisine Kota Warisan. On top of that (pun intended), there are tables inside the tent if you prefer shade. It is also safer to make a reservation if you want to be seated with a hilltop view. Besides western food, Hilltop Cuisine Kota Warisan also offers a “Shell Out” style option.
This place is huge with many seats, so you don’t have to worry about it being too crowded or a long queue (but there might be a bit of waiting during the weekends). However, parking is kind of limited on the weekends, so you might want to come early to secure a place.
Pro-Tip: If you are coming to dine at night, you might want to bring along a bug repellent.

One look at the concrete arch, you might think that you are in China, but this Chinese temple is actually in the quaint town of Dengkil in Malaysia! Not only that but this Taoist temple is also believed to be over 100 years old! Despite the huge arch, the temple itself is actually pretty small.
Thien Oh Kiong is one of the 7 Chinese temples in Dengkil. This temple is dedicated to Baosheng Dadi, a deity of medicine and Nezha, a protection deity whom many of you might know as the kid with the wind 🔥fire wheel. Originally, this temple was built with wood planks. After numerous efforts in the renovation, it was finally rebuilt in 1998 with materials & statues imported from China.

Cendol Durian Dengkil is one of the best places to hang out for afternoon tea in Dengkil. It is your go-to place if you want to have something cold, sweet, quenches your thirst and is made from 😋durian.
There are many food options on the menu, from mains to sides like cucur udang and pisang goreng. Make sure to have your fill, so that you can gain enough energy to tour other places.

Paya Indah Park is a recreational park with lots of activities, and it’s free entry! Bring your kids and parents here to watch the animal feedings! The feeding time for the 🦛hippos is 10am to 10:30am, and for crocodiles, 11am (weekends and public holidays only). You can check out the feeding time for other animals on their website. If you want to skip animal feeding, you can do bird watching (bring your own binoculars), 🎣fishing, 🛶kayaking, 🚴♂️cycling, jungle trekking and more.
Even though this hidden gem in Dengkil is free entry, you’ll still have to pay for certain activities if you are renting some equipment. You can book a room at the resort if you want to 😴stay overnight. It is a nice place to relax and be close to nature as this park is not very crowded.

Surprise, surprise! Some of you might have heard of Gamuda Cove, but many of you might not know that it’s located within 20 mins drive from the sleepy town of Dengkil. For those who don’t know, Gamuda Cove is a new township with lots of exciting adventures and leisure activities waiting for you guys to join. What's more, you don’t have to be a resident there to enjoy the activities and attractions.
Engage with the tour guide and enjoy a Safari wetland tour. Kids especially are going to love this! This is a great learning experience for kids and adults as the tour guide provides detailed explanations of the animals and plants. If you are feeling adventurous and itching for some extreme activities, you should join the MotoManiac ATV, Dirty Bike or Goosebumps Rope. You can also experience novelty dining at the Cove Aerobar, where you get elevated 35m above ground and 🍴dine in a hot-air balloon-like bar. Who lives in the 🍍pineapple under the sea? Spongebob Squarepants! What’s in the pineapple above the land? Sweet & sour pineapple flesh! Located within a 20 mins driving distance from Dengkil, Saudagar Nanas Agrofarm is situated on top of the hill. So you can enjoy a hilltop view of rows and rows of pineapple plants. The entrance to this farm is free.
The main attraction here has to be the restaurant because we Malaysians are such big foodies. The restaurant serves food and pastries made using fresh 🍍pineapples harvested from their farm. Weekends can be a bit crowded, with a long queue. So make sure you are mentally and physically prepared. If you like their pineapples, you can buy the fruit and even the seeds to plant in your garden.
Pro-Tip: Come in the morning for a breakfast with a spectacular view of the 🌄sun rising on the farm's horizon.

Get on a trip to experience hands-on wood crafts at KWM Craft in Dengkil. There are 2 packages that you can take, package A and package B. For package A, you get to try your hands on wood carving, whereas for package B you don’t. Both packages offer a KWM Craft introduction, craving demonstration and an hour of Galeri Kayu visit.
For your information, KWM stands for Kayu Warisan Malaysia. They have years of experience making wood carvings with traditional Malay designs such as mosque maces (cokmar), pulpits, canes, furniture and many more.

One of the few Hindu temples in Dengkil, the Sri Mayuranathar Srimath Pamban Swamigal Temple has an amazing spiritual vibe! Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this temple is tranquil and calm, which makes you feel at ease while praying. In addition to that, there are 4 🦚peacocks roaming around the temple ground. If you are lucky, they might open up and flex their beautiful tails at you.
Many past visitors express a sense of divine feeling upon entering this temple that worships Lord Murugan. It is also a favourite place for many siddhars and gurus to stay for meditation. If you are a Hindu devotee, perhaps you should too.

If you are an avid 🎣fisher, then this place is for you! Don’t worry, you won’t be catfished as you get to catch at least a catficatfish! (pun definitely intended) There are also other types of fish here, such as bighead carp, sultan fish and rohu. This place can get a bit crowded during the weekends. So if you want a relaxing fishing experience, come over during the weekdays! If you are hungry, there are stalls selling food. It can be pretty happening at night too!
In the end, fishing still depends on luck. While fishers on your left and right manage to catch lots of fish, you might end up empty-handed if you are unlucky. Nonetheless, as long as you don’t give up, there is still hope!
